SideWorks Templates Privacy Policy

SideWorks Templates helps you create, find, and insert one template library across the Chrome extension and Gmail add-on. This policy explains what data the product handles and why.
SideWorks is the product brand, not a separate legal entity. SideWorks Templates is operated by Dmitry Skornyakov, an individual based in Cyprus (the "operator", "we", or "us"). The operator is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Data we process
SideWorks Templates processes:
- template IDs, titles, and plain-text template content that you create;
- version, change, deletion, and request records needed to keep the library consistent and prevent duplicate or lost changes;
- a Google account identifier used to connect the same library across the Chrome extension and Gmail add-on;
- Firebase Authentication account metadata supplied by Google for sign-in;
- Chrome extension storage records needed for reliable operation, temporary connection loss, and safe recovery; and
- limited operational metadata such as client type, operation, result, HTTP status, library revision, template count, payload byte count, retry count, and latency.
We do not use the Gmail API to read your messages. The product does not send the contents of your emails to an AI service. Template content, credentials, Google account identifiers, email addresses, and request bodies are excluded from application logs.
How we use data
We use this data only to provide authentication, template storage across supported clients, insertion, backup, deletion, security, reliability, and support for SideWorks Templates.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling. We do not allow people to read template content unless you explicitly ask for support that requires access, access is necessary to investigate abuse or a security incident, or disclosure is required by law.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Service providers
Google Cloud and Firebase process data needed to provide authentication, hosting, the application API, database storage, and operational logging. Data is not shared with unrelated third parties except when required by law, needed to protect the service and its users, or as part of a business transfer with the required notice or consent.
Storage and retention
The template library is stored in Google Cloud in the European Union. Active templates and the technical records needed to prevent lost or duplicate changes are retained while the library exists. The current schema retains deletion, change, and request records until the library is deleted.
The Chrome extension stores product data in its protected extension storage. That device data is cleared when you sign out, delete the SideWorks Templates account, uninstall the extension, or clear the extension's storage.
Operational logs are retained for 30 days for security, reliability, incident response, and cost control. They are designed not to contain template content, credentials, raw Google identity, or request bodies.
Export and deletion
The Chrome extension can prepare a fresh JSON export containing the exact template IDs, titles, and text.
The account-deletion action requires an explicit typed confirmation and a recent Google sign-in. It deletes the account, template library, technical history, sign-in record, and product data stored by the Chrome extension. A new empty library is not created automatically after deletion.
Operational logs that do not contain template content may remain until their normal retention period expires. A backup that you save remains under your control and is not retained by SideWorks Templates as a separate copy.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Firestore does not allow direct client access; the application API authenticates each request and derives the account path from the verified Google identity. Authentication credentials are not stored in extension storage or exposed to Gmail content scripts.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit templates, export the library, sign out, or delete the account and template library. You may also contact us to ask a privacy question or request help with access or deletion.
